The AHWR is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person with Vision, Integrity, and Passion to oversee the Association’s Strategic Plan in consultation with the AHWR Executive and its members.
The position will require you to -
-Work with the Executive and Treasurer to ensure the financial sustainability of the Association
-Ensure planning and budgeting of the AHWR is in accordance with the Wine Industry Fund Legislation
-To enhance the national and international value of Brand Adelaide Hills Wine by developing and implementing events such as Winter Reds, Crush Festival and the AHWR Wine Show
-To enhance the national and international value of Brand Adelaide Hills Wine by developing and implementing new and existing marketing programs
-Add significant value to AHWR member businesses and the Adelaide Hills Wine Region by developing and implementing unique, high quality programs and marketing strategies
-To act as the spokesperson for the AHWR to media, trade and industry bodies.
-Manage the day to day operations and to lead and manage the Association’s staff in fulfilling the Association’s objectives.
Dimensions: Financial / KPIs / Comments
-Develop and deliver breakthrough marketing activities that position AHWR at desired level
-Increase membership and sponsorship levels
-Membership feedback on customer service delivery
-Measurably improve brand recognition in key markets
Key Business Relationships / Interactions:
-Reporting to the President of AHWR, formally on a monthly basis and as required
-Regular communication and interaction with association members
-Development of strategic relationships with industry decision makers, opinion leaders, media, government and industry bodies
-Working closely with team members to ensure association delivers high quality marketing activities, programs and events to budget
-Bachelor’s Degree, minimum
-Sales / Marketing / Business Development Training
-Valid driver’s license is required to fulfil this position.
-A minimum of five years’ experience in marketing in the wine, tourism or branded consumer goods required
-Previous business development and sales experience desirable
-Demonstrated track record of defining and implementing marketing programs with significant, measurable impact
-Knowledge of digital marketing and website utilisation
-The ability to make sound commercial decisions that benefit the region and the association’s members
-Track record of long business relationships based on transparency, service delivery and integrity
-Results orientated, self-motivated, positive attitude
-Excellent communicator with well-developed writing and presentation skills
-Strategic and creative mindset
-High level of integrity across all activities and relationships
-Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve results
-Ability to develop, build and leverage diverse, professional relationships and networks.
Desired Qualities:
-Exceptional communication skills required to present confidently and appropriately to all AHWR stakeholders and at all levels of industry and government
-Media savvy, comfortable being the voice of AHWR when required
-High level of writing skills to include press releases, marketing/business plans and reports
-Experience using thought leadership strategies to achieve desired market positioning
-Overseeing and maintaining up to date website information
-Understanding of budgets and financial reports
-Well-developed computer skills
